Foie gras and a boiled egg???

I was eating at one of my favorite cafes in Paris and decided to get an appetizer that I had never eaten before. Foie gras with a boiled egg. No one combines food like the French do so I thought, "Why not?"

This is the dish it came in. Gotta love the presentation. Isn't that pot cute?

Have you ever had this combination before? It was interesting, I liked it but I'm not sure if it is something I would order again. But half of the fun for me of being in a different country is trying things that I would normally never try. Have you ever tried a different combination of food?
