Lunch in Andover

So this year I have taken five international trips (working for an airline sure does have its perks). I'm not saying that to brag but letting you know that I have tons of pictures and stories to go along with them and I don't always tell those stories in the order that they happened. When I was in England for my niece's wedding, I stayed in Andover. It's a little town about an hour and a half by train from London, and a part of England I had never been to before. The day before the wedding I was running errands with my family and my soon to be family and of course, I was hungry. When I first arrived I told them that I wanted fish and chips, because no one does fish and chips like the British. We tried to get them on the first day I arrived but the place was closed so we were determined to get them the next day. Thankfully the place was open and my mouth watered as I ordered and waited for them to pack up my meal. It's definitely not about presentation, the fish is wrapped in paper along with the french fries and the oil literally drips through the paper.
As you can see I started to eat before I took the picture. I was so hungry I really almost didn't even get this shot cause I didn't want to stop eating to take it.
The chippy (as the Brits call a fish and chips place) didn't have anywhere to sit inside or outside so my friend was driving around to find a place where we all could sit and eat. Thankfully we stumbled across this lovely area with a pond and benches just for us (well, maybe not just for us but you know what I mean.)
This was in an apartment complex because there were apartments right across from where we were sitting.
The day was busy and hectic but it was so nice just to take a few minutes to eat, laugh, and enjoy the sunshine and the company. And the fish didn't disappoint!

  1. What a lovely park! The gate just beckons you to walk through it and take a stroll. Thanks for sharing.
