We stumbled upon this exhibit as we were exploring St. Petersburg. This is the United Buddy Bears exhibit, the goal is to promote tolerance and understanding among nations, cultures and religions. There were 143 bears representing as many countries recognized by the United Nations. EAch bear is designed by an artist from that country, showing the different styles yet the unity of art from each country. The bears are standing hand in hand to symbolize the future vision of a peaceful world. This exhibit is on a world tour, 25 countries on 5 continents.
