Westminster Abbey

London has some of the coolest buildings around. Today I visited Westminster Abbey, a church that is about 150 years old (This is where the queen had her coronation ceremony and Princess Diana's funeral was held). One thing I didn't expect to see here was Martin Luther King Jr. Yep, that's right. There is a statue of him in the front of the church.

This is the front of Westminster Abbey

Look at the 5th statue from the left. That is Martin Luther King Jr.

Here is one side of the cloisters

This is a courtyard surrounded by the cloisters. You aren't allowed on the grass, which is probably why it is so green and pretty.

You aren't supposed to take pics in the church, but I was a bit sneaky and did it anyway. I didn't use flash so I caused no harm...

These pics aren't the best but since I couldn't aim, I was basically just pointing and shooting.

The building itself is truly impressive so whether you are religious or not it doesn't matter. The architectural genius of this building merits a visit if you are going to be anywhere near London. It's a visual treat and you won't be disappointed.
Stay tuned, more to come...
