I think I told you that I go back and forth between Paris and London for work. Well, this week I have been in Paris and work has been crazy! Not much time to blog but I thought you might appreciate some pics of Versailles. There are too many pics to put on one thread so I will start today with Marie Antoinette's bedroom. This bedspread is the actual bedding that was she used. Did you know that when she gave birth she had to do it in front of the public? The wanted to ensure that if she had a son, it was actually hers and not the son of a peasant girl. Back in the 16th and 17th century, it was common for Royals to pass off other children as their own, as having a son was the greatest thing a woman could achieve in that society.

That's actually gold strands in the bedding.
