Bike riding in Paris? Mais oui!

I love riding bikes. I think it's such a great way to get exercise while seeing parts of a city. Thankfully, Paris has Velib and I wish more cities around the world (especially in the States!)would do it. The concept is a simple one: You rent a bike for how ever long you want to ride it and can pick it up from one location and drop it off in another location. There are bike stations all around the city with about 30 bikes per station.

You rent a bike and the first thirty minutes is free and each 30 minutes after that you pay a Euro. You can buy a yearly, weekly or day pass. The only hitch is you have to have a credit card with the chip in it so if you have an American credit card and no European friends, you can only watch people ride around the city. If you come to Paris you will see people riding them all the time, they are really popular. I rode one the other day and I loved it.

It's so easy to do and with so many bike stations all around the city, it's a great way to see Paris.
